Creative for Pacific Theatre’s 2010-2011 Season

Background /

Pacific Theatre is one of Vancouver’s hidden jems. While it has a home-grown cozy feel, Pacific Theatre pulls out the stops when it comes to delivering a riveting theatre experience.

Challenge /

To gain marketing profile in a highly competitive space while larger theatre companies have greater resources to put toward advertising.

Solution /

Kolke created a set of original, hand-illustrated pieces to set Pacific Theatre apart from the competition. Each play had custom art designed with the theme and plot in mind in order to provide the audience with a visual preview of what they could expect.
This solution played up Pacific Theatre’s home-grown,
one-of-a-kind attitude.

Results /

The 2010-2011 season campaign was immediately recognizable throughout Vancouver. The work was placed in the most prominent locations around the city, from Georgia and Burrard, to right on Robson Street in order to capitalize on the busy downtown core. The vivid colours and typography stood out from blocks away, while the tactile look of the artwork drew viewers in.
