BC Hydro’s Energy Explorers Kit

Background /

BC Hydro runs a successful children’s educational program for Lower Mainland schools. The program provides teachers with materials to explain energy to elementary school children.

Challenge /

Our challenge was to speak to children about complex matters such as energy efficiency in a way they could relate?

Solution /

We discovered an illustrative approach with the right feel, and a bright colour palette to draw young eyes to the materials and provide a feeling of energy. Each piece works to engage the children and provide important knowledge. They are simple and easy to use for the teachers.

Results /

The response has been extremely positive from the teachers. The children are excited and engaged with the material, and love the illustrations and colours. More importantly, they’re learning the facts.
